CAREER:
Has played in one game during his collegiate career, seeing action in his redshirt freshman season finale at Ole Miss . . . Came to Mississippi State after a whirlwind true freshman season . . . Recruited out of Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Miss., by Southeastern Louisiana, he left the Hammond, La., institution in early fall due to Hurricane Katrina . . . Enrolled at Pearl River [Miss.] Community College but did not play football . . . Came to MSU in the fall of 2006.
2006:
Played in one game during his redshirt freshman season . . . Saw action in the season finale at Ole Miss.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Led coach Nevil Barr’s Oak Grove High School team in Hattiesburg, Miss., to a 9-4 overall record during his senior season and to a berth in the South State title game . . . Broke the state of Mississippi single-season passing record that season, completing 228-of-361 passes for 3,608 yards and 28 touchdowns . . . Was intercepted just 11 times . . . Selected to the Class 5A all-state team at quarterback . . . Played in the North-South all-star game . . . Was also a standout baseball player on Oak Grove’s state championship baseball teams in 2003 and ’04 . . . Outstanding student on the high school level, he also won awards for his leadership abilities.

His father lettered in both football and baseball at the University of Southern Mississippi . . . His grandfather played football at Tulane University . . . Also had three uncles who played football and/or baseball at USM . . . Majoring in general business administration.
