Preview: Missouri and Vanderbilt

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State volleyball will conclude the regular season at home against Missouri and Vanderbilt.

The matches will both be held in Newell-Grissom, taking on Missouri on Friday and Vanderbilt on Sunday.

Friday's match against the Tigers will be a Blackout. Seniors Laura Williams, McKenna Dressel, Mele Corral-Blagojevich and Brooke Doherty will be celebrated before Sunday's match against the Commodores for senior day. Both matches will be available to watch on SEC Network.

The First Serve:

State is 16-7 over the season and 6-7 in conference play.
Mississippi State currently leads the SEC in lowest blocks allowed for the season. The Bulldogs have allowed only 140 blocks in 2025.
For the second time this season, Lindsey Mangelson was awarded the honor of SEC Freshman of the Week for the week of Nov. 3. Mangelson collected 23 kills, 59 total attacks, 7 digs, and 26.5 points against LSU.
Mangelson has cemented herself as fourth on the program's freshmen record list in kills and seventh in attack attempts.
Four Bulldogs rank within the top 10 in the conference in 12 different statistics.
Cayley Hanson is 11th nationally and second in the SEC in assists per set.

Scouting the opponent: Missouri

Missouri is 16-9 over the season and 7-6 in conference play.
The Tigers spent the early half of the season in the top 25 of the NCAA rankings.
Caylen Alexander leads the team in kills at 368 over 88 sets played.
Maya Sands leads in digs at 452 over 97 sets played.
Regan Haith and Tyrah Ariail lead in total blocks, at 95 and 94, respectively.
The Tigers lead the conference in service aces, and Sands leads in digs and digs per set.

Scouting the opponent: Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt is 6-16 over the season and 2-11 in conference play.
The Commodores are in their inaugural season after not having a volleyball program for 45 years.
Jacquelyn Moore leads in kills at 254 over 86 sets played.
Hailee Mack leads in digs at 243 over 86 sets played.
Moore has also picked up 81 blocks over the season.
Kamryn Chaney is second in the conference in service aces at 33 and averaging 0.50 per set.

Series History:

The record against Missouri is 5-17 in favor of the Tigers, with the last matchup being a four-set victory for State.
This will be the second matchup against Vanderbilt in history, with the last matchup being in 1978. The result of the match was a two-set victory for the Bulldogs.
This will be the first time that the Commodores have played in The Griss.
