State Drops Road Tilt At Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Mississippi State got off to an electric start but couldn't maintain the momentum as the Bulldogs ultimately dropped a 51-10 decision at Texas A&M.
Zavion Thomas returned the game's opening kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown to give MSU an early 7-0 lead before the Aggies took complete control.
Kyle Ferrie's field goal in the second quarter accounted for Mississippi State's only other scoring. Ferrie nailed a 35-yarder with 6:55 left before halftime to polish off a 10-play, 57-yard drive with points for the Bulldogs.
Making his first career start, MSU quarterback Chris Parson split time with fellow signal caller Mike Wright. Parson threw for 36 yards and ran for 17. Wright passed for 68 yards and gained 16 on the ground.
State running back Seth Davis had a strong night in his return to his home state. Davis toted the rock for a team-high 79 yards. Jeffery Pittman added 23 rushing yards.
Thomas and Lideatrick Griffin led the way in receiving yardage for MSU. Thomas had 39 yards while Griffin totaled 34.
Defensively, the Bulldogs were once again led by standout linebacker Nathaniel Watson. Watson tallied eight tackles including a sack.
Jett Johnson had seven takedowns for State with one sack, while Decamerion Richardson had six tackles.

Mississippi State will return home to face an instate foe. The Bulldogs battle Southern Miss at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 18. The contest will be streamed via SEC Network+.
