Bulldogs Head To Vanderbilt For Mason Rudolph Championship

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's golf is slated to continue the 2026-27 season by teeing off at the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee this Friday.
This Bulldogs boast a welcoming history at the tournament, competing in it for the third consecutive season. The Bulldogs won the team title in 2022 and had the individual top finisher each of the last two years. State will look to find that success once more this weekend.
The top of the Mississippi State lineup stays the same with seniors Avery Weed and Samantha Whateley, both of whom have found great recent success at the Mason Rudolph. Whateley won her first career individual championship at the event last year, while Weed won it in 2024.
Sophomore Moa Stridh will be in the third position for the squad on Friday. Recently, she finished T25 in the Boilermaker Classic. Stridh finished T49 at the Mason Rudolph Championship last year. She had her best finish last year with a T10 at the UCF Challenge.
Friday will be junior Alona Avery's first appearance with the Bulldogs, as she spent her first two years with UC Irvine before transferring to Starkville. Avery started her collegiate career off hot as she finished in the top 25 for six-straight tournaments, including three top 10 and two top 3 placements. She ended last year finishing in the top 25 in five straight tournaments.
Sophomore Alicia Bellindir will round out the lineup for State. She finished T11 in her first appearance for the Bulldogs at the Boilermaker Classic at
