STARKVILLE – Alicia Bellendir earned her first SEC Golfer of the Week honor on Wednesday after winning the individual title at The Fin last week.
Bellendir, a sophomore from Coppell, Texas, returned to her home state for The Fin. She shot a combined 5-under to earn co-medalist honors, which was the first win of her career.
Bellendir shot an impressive 6-under round last Tuesday to gain the lead entering the final round of action. That round was the best of any golfer throughout the duration of the event. She recorded 18 birdies during the week, the most of any golfer in the event.
The Fin was just the conclusion of a strong fall season for Bellendir, as she finished 11th or better in every event in the fall to earn four top-20 finishes.
Bellendir and the Bulldogs will return to action on February 1 for the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Florida.
