Blackout At Davis Wade
- Saturday’s game at Davis Wade Stadium will be a blackout with the Bulldogs wearing black helmets, black jerseys and black pants. State won last season’s blackout game, 24-20, over No. 12 Arizona State.
- State earned its first win over a ranked team in the Jeff Lebby era in last year's blackout game with a 58- yard touchdown pass from Blake Shapen to Brenen Thompson with 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Thompson's memorable touchdown celebration in the final moments of the game preceded a field rush.
Bulldogs vs. Sooners: First Meeting
- Saturday’s meeting will be the first on a football field between Mississippi State and Oklahoma. OU, which joined the Southeastern Conference in 2024, will host State in Norman for the first time in 2028.
- The 2026 matchup between the Bulldogs and Sooners features the SEC's fourth-best total offense (MSU) going against the league's second-best total defense (OU).
Lebby Faces Alma Mater
- Bulldog head coach Jeff Lebby began his coaching career as a student assistant at Oklahoma. He later was the offensive coordinator for the Sooners in 2022 and 2023 before taking over Mississippi State’s program prior to the 2024 season.
Countdown To Kickoff: Bulldogs Host Oklahoma
Mississippi State returns to Davis Wade Stadium for the first-ever meeting on the gridiron between the Bulldogs and the Oklahoma Sooners. Kickoff for Saturday's Blackout game is set for 2:30 p.m. CT.
