Bulldogs Tee Off 2026-27 Men's Golf Season In Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Mississippi State Men's Golf program tees off the 2026-27 season at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate.
Entering the 10th season of the Dusty Smith era, the Bulldogs are coming off another record-setting season, which included its eighth straight NCAA Regional appearance, five top-5 finishes and two tournament wins. State is looking to carry that momentum into 2026-27 with several new faces at their first tournament in the Maroon and White.
"We are excited to get the season underway this week," head coach Dusty Smith said. "I know the guys have been preparing well for this opportunity. As I coach, I am looking forward to seeing how this group competes this week as we begin the climb. It's important that we stay focused on our process and our ability to not be distracted throughout the tournament."

The Dawgs will begin with Jackson Cook at 7:30 a.m. CT, followed by Arth Sinha at 7:42 and both Yago Horno Mateo and Drew Wilson at 7:54. Bryson Hughes begins with a 8:06 tee time with Gavin Isbell following suit at 8:06.

Team Lineup
Gavin Isbell (No. 1) – Jr. – Trussville, Ala.
- Carded a top-20 finish at the Dogwood Invitational and finished 13th at the Southeastern Amateur this summer.
- One of two transfers in the Bulldog lineup. He finished inside the top 20 in 10 of his 11 events, including 6 top-10 finishes with two runner-up showings.
- Named to the 2025-26 All-SoCon team and ranked second in the conference at the conclusion of the season.
- Finished eighth at the Golfweek Hoosier Amateur and 11th at the City of Oaks Amateur this summer.
- Played in one team event and five as an individual in his freshman season, highlighted by an SEC Freshman of the Week performance at the Schenkel Invitational, where he finished 7-under overall in a tie for seventh with the fewest bogeys in the entire field.
- Participated in the British Amateur this summer.
- A top talent in Europe, ranked No. 3 in the 18 & Under rankings.
- Represented Spain in 2026 European Boys Team Championship, carding two rounds of 2-under 70 to contribute to a team victory.
- Participated in the British Amateur this summer.
- A new face in the Bulldog lineup, the First Team All-WAC transfer's career highlights include four top-5 finishes and a dominant conference tournament win in 2026.
- Appeared in the team lineup seven times in his first season as a Bulldog, including the NCAA Championship and NCAA Winston-Salem Regional.
- Carded a career best top-30 finish last season.
- Shot a career best 1-under 71 in round two to contribute to the team's victory at the Mossy Oak Collegiate.
Drew Wilson – 5th – Potts Camp, Miss.
- Advanced to U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying.
- Finished 16th at the Mississippi State Amateur.
- Finished in the top 15 in last year's season opener.
