LOXLEY, Ala. – Mississippi State closed its fall campaign with a tie for fourth at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, finishing at 19-under 845.
"I was pleased with how we competed this week," head coach Dusty Smith said. "We were close to playing some really good team golf but didn't quite have all five guys in it today. We need to continue to learn what it takes to be a championship caliber team. You have to have the ability to play big in big moments. We are getting better at understanding that and look to continue owning the experiences we had this Fall. I love everything about this team and look forward to a productive off season."
Jackson Skinner recorded his second career top-15 finish as a Bulldog.

Climbed 25 spots on the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 13th.

Recorded two consecutive rounds of par or better to finish 6-under.

Fired a final round of 5-under 67, marking back-to-back tournaments with a third round 67.
Finn Burkholder finished 12th overall at 7-under 209.

Marks the third top-15 finish for the freshman in four starts.

Carded a career-best 65 to open the tournament; he has recorded a round in the 60s in each of his tournaments this season.

Led the field with two eagles.
This concludes the Bulldogs' fall season. State placed inside the top five in three events, including a runner-up performance at the Cullan Brown Collegiate. The Bulldogs also collected one top-10 finish this fall. Mississippi State opens its spring season February 15-17 at the Watersound Invitational.
