The Clarksdale, Mississippi native broke out during his redshirt sophomore season by appearing in 11 games with four starts and collecting 29 tackles. Earning a primary starting role as a last season, Jones garnered postseason recognition—including All-SEC honors—while establishing himself as one of the conference's premier lockdown defensive backs.
In addition to his PFN All-America selection, Jones was recently named to the 2026 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Preseason Watch List, an award presented annually by the Football Writers Association of America to the top defensive player in college football.
