Mississippi State To Begin Play At NCAA Championship

CARLSBAD, Calif. – Mississippi State is set to begin play at the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, California. The par 72, 7,528-yard Omni La Costa Resort North Course plays host to 30 teams who advanced through NCAA Regionals.

The Bulldogs are making their fifth appearance at the NCAA Championship in program history and the second under head coach Dusty Smith, making him MSU's first coach to reach multiple NCAA Championships.

State made history in the Winston-Salem Regional with an overall score of 26-under 826, the program's lowest score in the NCAA Tournament. Garrett Endicott's score of 14-under 199 and third-place finishes are both the program's NCAA Tournament best.

19 of the 30 teams in the field are ranked inside the SCOREBOARD Top 25. State is one of 12 teams from the SEC to advance to the NCAA Championship.

NCAA Championship Team Lineup

Garrett Endicott (No. 1) – Senior – San Antonio, Tex.

Endicott makes another appearance in the No. 1 spot after one of the best performances of his career at the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional.

The senior fired a score of 14-under 199, his career best and the lowest individual NCAA Tournament score in program history. His third-place showing gives him the two best NCAA Tournament finishes at Mississippi State.

It marked his third top-five finish of the season and his ninth top 10. He has totaled 83 rounds of par or better for his career, which breaks a program record, and is now tied for first at Mississippi State with 42 rounds in the 60s.

Dain Richie (No. 2) – Graduate – New Berlin, Ill.

Richie put together an eighth-place showing in Winston-Salem, the fifth-best NCAA Tournament result in program history. He now has top 10s in each of his last four starts.

11 of his last 12 rounds have been par or better, and he has averaged a score of 68.67 over his last four tournaments. His 10 rounds in the 60s this season rank second on the team

Jackson Skinner (No. 3) – Freshman – Birmingham, Ala.

Skinner made his second top-20 finish of the season in the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional, firing par-or-better rounds all three days to tie for 20th overall.

The true freshman has now compiled 16 rounds of par or better this season to rank third on the team and has hit that threshold in six of his last seven rounds.

Ugo Malcor (No. 4) – Senior – La Baule, France

Malcor has fired three top 20s in his last four starts with eight total this season, which ranks second on the team.

The senior from France has put together the best season of his decorated college career with career bests in top 10s, top 20, and scoring average.

Drew Wilson (No. 5) – Redshirt Junior – Potts Camp, Miss.

Wilson returns to the starting lineup, having played solid golf this season.

He finished tied for 28th in his most recent start at the Mossy Oak Collegiate with a second round of 1-under 71. He began the season with a 14th-place showing at the Cullan Brown Collegiate, helping lead the Bulldogs to a team victory.
