Mississippi State Advances To NCAA Championship
May 20, 2026 | Men's Golf
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – For the fifth time in program history, Mississippi State men's golf will play in the NCAA Championship.
Â
The Bulldogs fired an overall score of 26-under 826, the program's best-ever NCAA Tournament score, to place fifth and advance to the next round.Â
Â
"I'm really proud of this team for their fight this week," head coach Dusty Smith said. "It's never easy to get out of NCAA Regionals. We stayed composed all week and trusted our training when we needed it the most. I can't say enough about this team and what they have accomplished. Now, we need to reset our focus and get ready for the NCAA Championship."
Â
Garrett Endicott added to the historic week with a third-place finish, the best NCAA Regional showing by any Bulldog in program history. He carded a final round of 5-under 66 to complete a 14-under 199 for the event – State's lowest-ever individual score in the NCAA Tournament.Â
Â
This mark's Endicott's 42nd career round in the 60s, which ties Ford Clegg's program record. Â
Â
Dain Richie followed suit with his fourth-consecutive top 10, an eighth-place showing at 8-under overall. He carded three birdies and an eagle to fire a 1-under 70 in round three and shoot under-par rounds all three days.
Â
Jackson Skinner put together his second top 20 of the season, concluding his event with back-to-back rounds of 2-under 69 after an opening even-par 71. He carded rounds of par-or-better all three days in his NCAA Tournament debut.
Â
Ugo Malcor played gritty golf in his final round to card a 71 while Jackson Cook finished his first NCAA Tournament in 62nd place overall.
Â
State will turn its attention to the NCAA Championship at the Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California. Play begins on May 29.
