
Bulldogs Conclude Season In Chapel Hill Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Mississippi State women's golf concluded fell short of advancing to the NCAA Championship on Wednesday, as they finished seventh in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional at 21-over par on Wednesday.

Avery Weed finished tied for fifth individually in the event after firing her third consecutive par or better round, as she went 1-under across the final 18 holes. Weed was one of nine golfers to conclude the tournament under-par.

The conclusion of the Chapel Hill Regional marked the conclusion of Izzy Pellot's collegiate golf career. Pellot, a senior from Orlando, Florida, made history just by taking the tee box in the event, as she became the first golfer in program history to tee off in four NCAA Tournaments.

Pellot concludes her career having played in 122 rounds in the Maroon and White, the fourth-most of any golfer in program history. She also recorded the sixth-most par or better rounds (36) and the seventh-most rounds in the 60s (8).

Texas, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, NC State and Virginia will all advance from the Chapel Hill Regional to the NCAA Championship, which is scheduled to begin on Friday, May 22 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
