BATON ROUGE, La. – Mississippi State track and field will compete in the first away meet of the outdoor season at the Battle on the Bayou, hosted by LSU.

Over the weekend, 51 Bulldogs will compete in 33 events. There are 10 Bulldogs ranked in the top 30 nationally in individual events and two relays.
Action will begin in the hammer throw, with program record holders Marie Rougetet and Juha Narhi set to compete. Track events will begin with the 400m hurdles and conclude with the 5000m. Program record holder Naomi Jepleting is set to toe the line in the long-distance race.
The Bulldogs are looking to improve the momentum from the season opener, where they earned a new program record, five entries to the program's all-time list and five personal bests.
