
State Concludes Run In SEC Championship On Sunday

BELLEAIR, Fla. – Mississippi State women's golf was unable to advance to the match play portion of the SEC Championship, as they fell outside of the top eight on Sunday, finishing T10 at 6-over par.

Avery Weed finished T7, which earned her personal best SEC Championship individual finish in her third appearance. Weed shot 2-over in the final round of action, giving her a three-day total of 4-under. This was her sixth top 10 finish of the season and the 14th of her career.

Samantha Whateley cracked the top 20 in the final round of action and finished T19 at 1-over par. Whateley shot a team-best 1-under in the final day of action. This was the fifth time this season she finished inside of the top 20, the most top 20 finishes in a single season of her career.

The Bulldogs will now wait to hear where their postseason journey begins. State will find that out on Wednesday, April 29, as the selection show is set to air at 4 p.m. CT on Golf Channel.
