Four Bulldogs Begin Spring Season At Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate

STATESBORO, Ga. – Four Bulldogs will begin their spring campaigns at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate.

The par-72, 6,900-yard Georgia Southern Golf Course plays host to the two-day event. Saturday will consist of 36 holes with the tournament concluding with 18 holes on Sunday.

The Bulldogs will be represented by Jackson Cook, Trip Duke, Bryson Hughes, and Ben Kelling.

Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate Individual Lineup

Jackson Cook – Freshman – West Point, Miss.

Jackson Cook makes his fourth appearance for the Bulldogs this season. The true freshman carded the best round of his young MSU career in his latest start at the Cullan Brown Collegiate, helping lead State to a team victory.

Trip Duke – Sophomore – Fairhope, Ala.

This will be Trip Duke's third appearance this season, having played in the Carmel Cup and the Cullan Brown. He competed in last season's Thomas Sharkey, finishing in a tie for 24th.

Bryson Hughes – Freshman – Saint John's, Fla.

Bryson Hughes suits up in the Maroon and White for the second time in his career. He made an appearance at the Cullan Brown, having played as an individual. The true freshman was ranked the No. 7 junior Class of 2025 golfer in Florida.

Ben Kelling – Redshirt Freshman – Bad Feilnbach, Germany

Ben Kelling is coming off a solid performance at the Fallen Oak Collegiate, his first event at State. He finished in a tie for 44th which included a second round of 1-under 71.

Tournament Information

The Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate honors the memory of Thomas Sharkey, who played for the Eagles from 2009-11 and was tragically killed in a house fire in his native Scotland in the summer of 2011.

The Georgia Southern golf program has a memorial stone dedicated to him at its practice facility, and Sharkey's locker has his name in it in memory of him.

Play begins Saturday, February 7th with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. CT.
