State Completes the Debbie Southern and Blue Gray Classic to Start Off the Fall

Mississippi State women's tennis wrapped up its first fall tournament of the 2025 campaign over the weekend at the Debbie Southern and Blue Gray Fall Classic.
The two freshmen, Mia Robinson and Thessy Ntondele Zinga, both secured their first collegiate win in both singles and doubles. Robinson took down Wake Forest's Evie Oxford 1-6, 7-6(4), 7-6(1) while Ntondele Zinga outlasted UAB's Nera Tesankic 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-4.
Athina Pitta collected a pair of wins over the weekend. The junior defeated Indiana's Mansi Vadyala 6-2, 6-4, and South Carolina's Jane Dunyon after retirement.
Pitta and Robinson collected two of the five doubles wins by defeating a pair from Alabama and Kentucky. The duo of Carolina Troiano and Gianna Oboniye also earned a doubles victory at the Debbie Southern by defeating the pair from UAB.
Emma Cohen and Alessia Tagliente collected doubles matches as well as Ntondele Zinga and Chiara Di Genova against Jacksonville State at the Blue Gray Classic on the final day.
Cohen, Tagliente, and Di Genova also picked up a singles win against Jacksonville State in Montgomery.
State picked up a total of five doubles wins and eight singles wins between the two tournaments.
