- Mississippi State nearly knocked off the top-ranked Texas Longhorns in their last contest, ultimately falling 68-64.
- Jerkaila Jordan led the Dawgs with 14 points, the 17th time she led State in scoring this season.
- Although she battled foul trouble for the majority of the game, Madina Okot collected 11 points, four rebounds and two blocks in 18 minutes.
- Chandler Prater and Debreasha Powe eached picked up nine points a piece as well. Powe knocked down three triples on five attempts, the 11th time this season she has hit at least three shots from deep.
- Eniya Russell and Quanirah Montague led State with six boards, while Montague also led all bench players with eight points.
- The Bulldogs have excelled on the glass this season, outrebounding their opponents by 8.2 rebounds per game, which is the fourth best mark in the SEC and 14th best nationally. The bring in 41.2 per game, the 19th most in the country and fourth most in the conference.
- State's bench play has been excelling at scoring as of late, as they now rank fifth in the conference with 22.0 bench points per game.
- The Bulldogs rank 30th in the nation and 6th in the Southeastern Conference with a 46.0 field goal percentage on the season.
- Madina Okot ranks fifth in the nation and second in the SEC with a 65.8 field goal percentage and is fourth in the SEC with 9.4 rebounds per game. She's finished with 10+ points eight times in conference play, seven of which came within the last nine games.
- Jerkaila Jordan is averaging 13.3 points in her last five games, along with 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.0 assists.
- Debreasha Powe is shooting 42.3 from deep this season, which is the second-best mark in the conference and 25th best mark in the country. She is one of three players in the SEC to average above 40 percent from deep this season and ranks second in the SEC.
- Since making the move to the starting lineup seven games ago, Chandler Prater is averaging 8.9 points and 4.9 rebounds on 48.1 percent shooting from the floor in 30.7 minutes per game
- Mississippi State and Auburn will face off for the 65th time in program history on Sunday, with the Tigers leading the series, 36-28.
- The Bulldogs have dominated the series against the Tigers in recent history, as they have won 12 of the last 13 matchups, spanning back to March 27, 2014. State's one loss came in that span last season on February 29, 2024 in Auburn.
- State is 5-6 on the road this season and 2-4 in conference play.
