- Mississippi State got back in the win column after earning a 23 point victory over Arkansas, 78-55.
- State shot above 40% from three for just the third time in conference play and the ninth time this season
- Debreasha Powe and Jerkaila Jordan led the Bulldog offense with 16 points a piece. Powe knocked down a season-best five threes at a 100 percent rate in the first half, while Jordan shot 8-17 from the floor with five steals.
- Madina Okot grabbed her eighth double-double against Arkansas with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
- Chandler Prater knocked down a season-best six shots to tie her season-high of 14 points along with six rebounds against the Hogs. Destiney McPhaul was the fifth Bulldog to score in double-figures as she finished with 11 on 71.4 percent shooting.
- Alabama and Mississippi State will match up for the 65th time in program history, with Bama leading the series 40-24. At Humphrey Coliseum, State trails in the series 11-19.
- Alabama will be the sixth opponent State will take on that is ranked in the top 25. The Bulldogs' lone ranked win was back on January 9 against Oklahoma inside Humphrey Coliseum.
- The Bulldogs are 9-2 at home this season, 3-2 in conference play. When playing ranked opponents in the Hump, State is 1-2.
- A win over Alabama would give Sam Purcell the most SEC wins of any Bulldog head coach in their first three seasons.
