No. 40 MSU Women’s Tennis To Battle No. 27 Rival Ole Miss Friday At 3 p.m.

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State women's tennis team (10-8, 2-8 SEC), ranked 40th nationally, is set to square off against No. 27 in-state rival Ole Miss (8-7, 4-5 SEC) on Friday at 3 p.m. CT at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre. Admission is free to all MSU home tennis matches.
Current MSU Tennis COVID Attendance Protocols
Under current COVID protocols, fans may attend MSU home matches at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre, with seating allowed in designated areas only. Continuing MSU and SEC COVID protocols, face coverings over the nose and mouth shall be required as a condition of all guest during ingress, egress, and movement throughout the stadium, as well as any time guests are unable to maintain the recommended physical distance from others who are not in their same household or when actively eating or drinking.

Bulldog Notes
State is ranked 40th nationally in this week's latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll. Two Bulldogs are ranked nationally in singles – No. 32 Emma Antonaki and No. 74 Magda Adaloglou. In doubles, Adaloglou and Tamara Racine jumped to No. 14 in the country this week, matching their highest ranking ever as a pair.
MSU owns a 27-18 record in doubles dual match play overall this season as well as an impressive 57-32 mark in singles, with Antonaki and Adaloglou pacing the team. Antonaki owns a 12-3 dual match singles mark, while Adaloglou is 10-1 and has claimed her last eight singles decisions. Adaloglou has claimed 18 of her last 20 singles outings, dating back to last season, while Antonaki has won all but three of her last 22 matches.
True freshman Chloé Cirotte has been stellar in her first semester in the Maroon and White, going 9-4 in dual match competition. Marta Falceto (5-2) also owns a winning mark in dual match play thus far this spring. Alexandra Mikhailuk has notched eight victories, Racine has tallied six, and Lilian Poling owns five in team action for State as well.

Ole Miss enters Friday's match with an 8-7 ledger, 4-5 in the SEC. The Rebels travel to Starkville after dropping their last match then-No. 39 South Carolina in Oxford on Sunday.
Ole Miss is led in the national rankings by Sabina Machalova, who is 28th in this week's latest poll. Machalova teams up with Alexa Bortles to form the nation's 60th-ranked doubles tandem. Tiphanie Fiquet (63rd) and Tereza Janatova (110th) also represent the Rebels in the ITA singles rankings.
The Rebels lead 54-7 in the all-time series with MSU, with the teams having split the last four matches between them and UM having claimed the last two. The last meeting came on March 10, 2019, when the Rebels earned a 4-1 victory in Oxford.
Last Time Out
State fell 4-1 to No. 24 Florida in Starkville this past Saturday. Antonaki earned the Bulldogs' lone point with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over the Gators' 47th-ranked Marlee Zein on court 2.
Next Up For MSU
Following Friday's match against Ole Miss, the Bulldogs will conclude their five-match homestand and the 2021 regular season by hosting No. 21 Kentucky (April 8, 3 p.m.) and No. 19 Vanderbilt (April 10, 12 p.m.).
