"We've had a great week of practice here in Nashville and we're looking forward to tomorrow's match," head coach Matt Roberts said. "Vanderbilt has a good team and we're excited about the opportunity to continue our develop and keep getting better. This is the first match in a road stretch for us, so we want to get off on the right foot Thursday."
The Bulldogs will face Vandy on Thursday, before traveling to Lexington on Saturday to take on No. 17 Kentucky at 11 a.m. CT. MSU caps its road swing against No. 46 Arkansas next Thursday at 6 p.m. CT.
Last time out, the Bulldogs took care of visiting Alabama as the Maroon and White rolled over the Crimson Tide to earn a 5-2 victory. In the win MSU captured the doubles point, before receiving wins from Mate Cutura, Giovanni Oradini, Niclas Braun and Trevor Foshey in singles play. Borges leads the Bulldogs in dual-match singles wins with a 9-1 record while a trio of Bulldogs currently sit behind him with eight wins as Oradini (8-1), Rakic (8-3) and the aforementioned Braun (8-4) seek their ninth against the Commodores.
