
Mississippi State Men's Tennis Announces Signing of Segundo Goity Zapico

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State men's tennis head coach Matt Roberts announced the signing of Segundo Goity Zapico on Thursday.
A native of Intendente Alvear, La Pampa, Argentina, Segundo comes to Starkville as one of the top players in Argentina, bringing two years of National Team experience.
The junior transfer will make his way over from Florida Atlantic, where he amassed a 31-21 singles record and 22-19 doubles record over the last two seasons. Goity Zapico played the entire 2026 season on courts one and two in singles, earning a 9-11 record on the season, including six straight-set victories on the season.
Segundo comes to Starkville with a career ATP Singles ranking of 1174 and ITF Singles ranking of 523. His best ITF single season ranking stands at No. 66, and he is the holder of three ITF Championship Titles. Goity Zapico has competed in three Junior Grand Slam events in his career, including the Australian, French and U.S. Opens. His most recent professional event saw him reach the Round of 32 in singles and Quarterfinals in doubles of the ATP Challenger event in Cordoba, Argentina.
Goity Zapico joins a Mississippi State program that continues to compete as one of the nation's elite college tennis programs. Under Coach Matt Roberts, the Bulldogs have reached consecutive NCAA Quarterfinals and continue to experience success in the SEC and on the national stage.
