Maryann Baker began serving as Assistant Athletics Director for Internal Operations in 2020.
Baker is responsible for assisting in support of MSU’s Equipment Operations, Game Operations/Event Management, Facility Operations, and Coliseum Operations units, as well as provide organizational guidance and support to other assigned departmental operational projects and objectives.
Prior to stepping into her current role, Baker previously served as Assistant AD for Women’s Basketball at State, directing operations for the highly successful hoops program for eight years. She was a key member of the MSU teams that achieved unprecedented success in the past decade, including back-to-back NCAA title game appearances in 2017 and 2018, as well as consecutive SEC Championships in 2018 and 2019.
Prior to coming to Starkville, she spent one season helping the coaching staff at Texas A&M following a stellar playing career that saw her help the Aggies to four NCAA Tournament berths, including the 2011 national title and a pair of Big 12 Tournament titles.
During her first season on the sideline, the Aggies advanced to the Sweet 16 and finished the year 24-11 and No. 12 in the final USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ Poll.
The Dallas, Texas, native capped a stellar playing career with the Aggies by winning the 2011 Big 12 Sixth Man Award before going on to help the program to a school-record 33 wins and the 2011 national championship.
