Women’s Golf Set To Host The Ally
October 04, 2026 | Women's Golf
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's golf returns to Mississippi to host their annual home tournament, The Ally, named after former Mississippi State golfer Ally Ewing. The tournament, which is hosted at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, will kick off on Monday.
State will replicate the lineup that won the team title in their last event at the Mason Rudolph Championship. All five Bulldogs in the lineup finished inside the top 20 individually, marking the first time State had done such since 2024.
Avery Weed will sit at the top of the Bulldog lineup. Weed was the individual champion in the 2024 edition of The Ally, where she tied an NCAA record with an 11-under 61 in the opening round of the event before winning it at 9-under.
Samantha Whateley will tee off in the second spot for the Bulldogs. Whateley tied with Weed as he top finisher in State's lineup at The Ally last season, as the duo both finished T3 at 6-under par.
Moa Stridh is in the middle of the State lineup. This will be her first appearance in the lineup for the Bulldogs in their home event, as she made her debut in The Ally as an individual during her freshman campaign last season.
Alona Avery will make her first appearance in The Ally on Monday. The junior transfer carded a pair of even par rounds in the first and second rounds of the Mason Rudolph Championship, where she made her Bulldog debut.
Alicia Bellendir will round out the Bulldog five this week at Old Waverly and will make her first appearance in the home event. In her first two collegiate tournaments, Bellendir has earned a pair of top 15 finishes. She cracked the top 10 for the first time at the Mason Rudolph Championship.
Four Bulldogs will compete individually at The Ally: Ines Belchior, Harper Hinckley, Blondie Perrson Lidgren and Lynn van der Sluijs. Hinckley and van der Sluijs will be making their season debuts, while Belchior and Perrson Lidgren will be both making their second appearance of the year.
