Bulldogs Earn Fourth Place Finish At Canadian Collegiate Invitational

FOOT'S BAY, Ontario, Canada – Mississippi State men's golf fought through tough weather in round three of the Canadian Collegiate Invitational to finish fourth overall. State was the only program to finish the tournament with more than three players inside the event's top 20.
"I thought we had a lot of really good moments this week but at the same time made some costly mental errors that ultimately cost us," head coach Dusty Smith said. "Today was a very tough day with really difficult conditions. I'm proud of how we hung in there despite a very rough start. We have a lot to clean up before our next event, but I love what I'm seeing from this group. We have to take ownership of the week and keep making the climb. There were so many valuable lessons that we learned this week that will only help us down the road if we choose to learn and gain more awareness."
This is the first time the Bulldogs have had at least four players finish in the top 20 since the 2024 Blessings Collegiate Invitational.
Arth Sinha ended the tournament in 12th place, his best finish as a Bulldog.

Freshman Finn Burkholder recorded a top 15 finish in his Bulldog debut.

Only Bulldog to record two rounds of par or better this tournament.

Carded a second round score of 3-under 68 in round two.
Bryson Hughes earned his second top 20 finish as a Bulldog.

Tied for 17th, which is the second best finish of his career in the Maroon and White.

Fired a career best first round, shooting a round of 68 for the second time this season.
Gavin Isbell recorded his best finish at State, tying for 18th.

Carded a round two score of 1-under 70 with four birdies and two eagles, his best outing as a Bulldog.

Tied for the most eagles in the field with two.
The Bulldogs will return to play from October 5-6 at the Cullen Brown Collegiate in Lexington, Kentucky.
