STARKVILLE — Mississippi State center Canon Boone has been named Southeastern Conference Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Boone anchored the Bulldog offensive front during a hard-fought 75-snap performance at center, helping guide Mississippi State to a road victory against (RV) Minnesota.
Behind Boone’s leadership up front, the Bulldogs' ground attack dominated Saturday, churning out 252 rushing yards as a unit. The dominant performance marked the second consecutive game that the offense has eclipsed the 250-yard rushing threshold. Additionally, Saturday’s contest represented the second straight game in which a Bulldog rusher surpassed 100 yards and scored multiple touchdowns on the ground.
The offensive line's play in the trenches was crucial in snapping Minnesota’s eight-game home winning streak. Boone and the Bulldogs look to carry this momentum forward as they travel to South Carolina, with kickoff slated for 3:15 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
