August 20, 2026 | Football
STARKVILLE — Three Mississippi State football standouts—wide receiver Anthony Evans III, cornerback Kelley Jones, and safety Isaac Smith—have been named to the 2027 Senior Bowl Top 300 list, the organization announced Thursday.
The Senior Bowl scouting department evaluated over 2,000 prospects from all levels of college football to finalize the list, which highlights draft-eligible players possessing the talent and potential to compete at the NFL level. Inclusion on the list is a notable accomplishment, representing a critical step in the evaluation process for the upcoming draft.
Heading into the 2026 season, the Bulldog trio have each established themselves as key contributors for Mississippi State, demonstrating the skill sets necessary to garner attention from professional scouts. Evans recorded team-best totals of 67 receptions for 831 yards and four touchdowns last season, while Jones allowed the fewest receptions (11) among all SEC corners. Smith enters his fourth season in Starkville and was named an All-SEC Second Team selection by PFSN in 2025.
While being named to the Top 300 serves as a testament to their collegiate careers, the evaluation process continues throughout the season. Senior Bowl invitations are ultimately earned through sustained performance on the field. The scouting staff will monitor players throughout the year, with additional opportunities for athletes to elevate their draft stock as the season progresses.
