MELBOURNE, Fla. – Mississippi State women's golf earned their fourth top three finish of the season at the Moon Golf Invitational, as they finished third at 7-over par.

After the first day of action, the Bulldogs sat in seventh place at 9-over. State used the next two days to climb four spots on the leaderboard. Fueled by a 5-under round by Moa Stridh, the Bulldogs were able to climb three spots on Monday, as they concluded the round at 3-under, the second-best round by any team in the second round.

State was able to climb back into the top three in the final round of action after finishing 1-over par on the round, a team score that was better than 13 of the other 16 teams in the final day of action. Ines Belchior and Avery Weed were a big part in helping the Bulldogs gain that last spot on the leaderboard.

Belchior concluded the Moon Golf Invitational with a 4-under 68, tying the second-best individual round on day three. This was Belchior's third round in the 60s of the season, giving her sole possession of the fourth most rounds in the 60s by any freshman in program history. She was the biggest mover on the individual leaderboard, climbing 31 spots to earn her third career top 10 finish.

Avery Weed recorded her 15th par or better round of the season by concluding the tournament with a 2-under 70. Weed has now finished par or better 46 of her 79 career rounds. Weed climbed 22 spots in the final round.

The Bulldogs will have a quick turnaround, as their next tournament, The Chevron Collegiate, is set to kick off on Monday, February 23.
