Jeffery Simmons wasted little time making his presence felt in his debut with the Chicago Bears.
In the primetime spotlight of Monday Night Football, Simmons tied for the team lead with six tackles to go along with two tackles for loss, one sack, one quarterback hit and a pass defense in helping the Bears achieve a 34-17 road win at Seattle.
Inserting Simmons into Chicago's lineup also provided a spark to his fellow D-Line U teammate Montez Sweat. Sweat also earned a sack to go along with two stops and three quarterback hits which harkened back to their days of wreaking havoc together for two seasons with the Bulldogs.
Simmons and Sweat โ both first-round draft picks and Pro Bowlers โ have now combined for more than 100 sacks during their eighth seasons in the league. Simmons has 42 ยฝ career sacks while Sweat is now sitting at an even 60.
Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott accounted for two touchdowns, but it was not enough to hold off Arizona in overtime. Prescott connected on 19 of 29 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown while adding a 5-yard rushing score, his first of the season.
Elgton Jenkins started at center and once again logged all 70 offensive snaps for the Browns.
Logan Cooke punted six times for a 48.7 yard-average in Jacksonville's 42-7 victory over the Colts. Cooke's longest punt went for 55 yards, and he pinned three inside the 10-yard line at the 6, 3 and 6-yard line.
Defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy was released by Houston on Nov. 2.
