November 14, 2024 | Cross Country
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Mississippi State cross country will send seven girls to the line at the South Regional Championships Friday morning.
The race will be held at the Apalachee Regional Park, with the women's 6k kicking off at 9:30 a.m. CT.
"The group is ready to have a big day tomorrow and build off the momentum from SEC's," assistant coach Erinn Stenman-Fahey said. "Energy has been high, and they are confident and excited to race."
MSU will compete alongside 34 teams from across the American South. The team will face conference rivals Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt, whom they competed against at the SEC Championships.
State will race seven women in Tallahassee. Ramat Jimoh and Gabrielle Boulay will return to the line after their stellar performances at the conference championships, where they both ran the first sub-20 6k times in MSU history.
Hayley Ogle, Hunter Anderson, and Morgan Grace Sheffield will return to the line after scoring for MSU at the conference championships. All three have set 6k personal bests this season, all of which sit on the MSU top 20 all-time list. Mallory Streetman and Kaitlyn Burge round out the lineup for State.
The team had at standout performance at this race last season, finishing 13th with personal bests set across the board. Jimoh, Ogle, Anderson and Streetman return to the race all boasting faster times than what was set at the race last season.
