State Concludes Regular Season At Crimson Classic
October 17, 2024 | Cross Country
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Mississippi State cross country will cross the state line to race at the Crimson Classic hosted by Alabama this Friday.
The race will be held at the Harry Pritchett Running Park, with the women's 6k kicking off at 9:20 a.m CT.
"We're excited to be returning to the Crimson Classic," assistant coach Erinn Stenman-Fahey said. "This is a meet we are familiar with and will be a good challenge to help us prepare for championship season."
MSU will toe the line with conference foes No. 4 Alabama, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 22 Ole Miss, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri and South Carolina, among 18 other teams. The Bulldogs will be competing in their first 6k and final regular season race of the year. Â
State will send 13 women to the line in Tuscaloosa, the most since the Southern Showcase back in September. Ramat Jimoh, Jaelyn Ogle, Hayley Ogle, Hunter Anderson and Madison Jones hold the fastest 6k times for the squad, and all are on MSU's all-time list.
Mallory Streetman, Reese Terza, Brooklyn Quanz and Gracie Gibson follow in the lineup, closing out the only returners to boast a 6k time. Gabrielle Boulay, Kaitlyn Burge, Morgan Grace Sheffield and Trinity Holland will make their collegiate 6k debut.
The Bulldogs will be returning to Tuscaloosa on the heels of a major performance at the 2023 Crimson Classic. As State's highest finisher, Jimoh earned 14th place last year clocking in at 20:36.1. She was followed by the Ogle pair, Anderson and Jones as the scorers, with the team finishing seventh. With the same line up returning to the course, MSU looks to improve on its previous performance.
Live results for the race can be found here.
