NOTABLES
Â
- The Dawgs enter the weekend having won 10 straight matches (all vs. SEC opponents) with six of those victories coming at home and four on the road. MSU owns a 13-1 record at The Griss this season and a 5-4 mark in road matches. State enters the match having won four straight road contests. The 10 consecutive SEC wins is the longest streak in program history. Â
- Overall, State has posted a 22-5 overall record this season and 13-2 mark in conference play. The 22 wins by the Dawgs is tied for the most in program history, while State needs just one more win to set a new school record (Previous: 22; 1976).
- Mississippi State extended the SEC's longest winning streak to 10 matches last weekend with a pair of victories over No. 24 Tennessee in Starkville. The Bulldogs opened the series with a four-set win over the Vols before completing the sweep in five sets last Sunday at The Griss.
- For the second straight week, Mississippi State is receiving votes in the most recent AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll entering the two-match road series at Arkansas.
- The .815 winning percentage is on pace for a program single-season record. The previous mark is a .657 clip, courtesy of a 22-12 record, set in 1976 during the program's 2nd season.
- Mississippi State checks in at No. 27 in this week's NCAA RPI (11/14). The Bulldogs have posted seven wins over fellow RPI top 50 opponents, which include Florida (29 – 09/24), Ole Miss (35 – 10/17), Texas A&M (38 – 10/23 & 10/24), South Carolina (47 – 10/13) and Tennessee (12 – 11/13 & 11/14).
