Mississippi State opens SEC Tournament play in the final game of Wednesday’s session versus either LSU or South Carolina
HOOVER, Ala. – Taking the No. 4 seed into the Southeastern Conference Tournament, the Mississippi State baseball program will kick off play at the event in the final game of the day on Wednesday (May 22) at Hoover Met Stadium. The Diamond Dawgs will play the winner of LSU/South Carolina, which takes place on Tuesday (May 21).

The 2019 event will mark Mississippi State's 33rd conference tournament, owning a 65-53 all-time record at the event since the double-elimination format began. The Diamond Dawgs also made eight appearances when the event was a two-team playoff, posing a 15-7 mark in those appearances.

Earlier in the week, redshirt-junior Ethan Small was tabbed the SEC Pitcher of the Year and freshman JT Ginn was named SEC Freshman of the Year. Small, along with sophomore Tanner Allen, sophomore Justin Foscue and senior Jake Mangum all earned first-team All-SEC. Mangum also earned All-Defensive Team and Ginn was named to the All-Freshman Team.
