STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State's women's tennis squad (12-12, 3-9 SEC) will close the 2019 dual-match season against the 28th-ranked LSU Tigers (15-9, 5-7) at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.

The Bulldogs will celebrate the careers of Janina Braun and Anastasia Rentouli for Senior Day as part of the final day of Super Bulldog Weekend.

Bulldogs In The Oracle ITA Rankings …
State true freshman Emma Antonaki has consistently been among the nation's ranked singles players this season. The rookie currently stands 65th in the country, leading the team in wins with a 24-10 overall singles mark through fall tournament action and dual match play. Antonaki holds a 8-5 record against ranked opponents, 4-2 against top 60 contenders. The rookie is a remarkable 16-5 in dual matches this spring.

State's doubles duo of Magda Adalogou and Tamara Racine have also held a spot in the rankings for the last several weeks. Now ranked 66th in the nation, the Bulldog tandem has an 8-7 ledger in dual-match action.Â

Know The Foe: LSU
The 28th-ranked LSU Tigers boast an overall 15-9 mark on the season, 5-7 in the SEC. The Tigers opened dual-match action by winning the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Tallahassee, advancing to the 2019 ITA National Indoor Championship. In 2018, LSU was 15-11, 5-8 in conference play, finishing the year as the 37th-ranked squad nationally. Highlighting 2018 for the Tigers, LSU's tandem of Jessica Golovin and Eden Richardson captured the NCAA Doubles crown, the program's first national championship in the program's 42-year history.

In 2019, Golovin and Richardson currently stand as the 14th-ranked tandem in the nation and are 19-6 overall. In singles, Richardson is the country's ninth-ranked player, boasting a 21-8 overall record. Golovin is the 59th-ranked singles player, holding a 15-9 ledger.

In preparation of forecasted severe weather, MSU's opening match of Super Bulldog Weekend was moved from Friday (April 12) to Thursday (April 11). In a highly-competitive match, the 16th-ranked Texas A&M Aggies held off the Bulldogs 4-2 at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
