by Mary Catherine Molay, Graduate Assistant
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - After falling to No. 18 Kentucky in three on Friday, Mississippi State (5-12, 1-3 SEC) travels to Knoxville to face Tennessee (13-4, 4-1 SEC) on Sunday.
A live stream of the match will air on the SEC Network+ at 12:30 p.m. CT. Fans can also access the match via the WatchESPN app.
"We are prepared to hit the road and go to work," head coach Julie Darty said. "I think as we get into the thick of SEC play, the team is figuring out that this is a super competitive league, top to bottom. We are excited to head to Knoxville. We are excited to get on the court and compete. I like where we are, mentally, right now, and I think we are committed to getting better and really staying true to the process right now.
"The team is really invested in growing right now," Darty explained. If we can continue to get good work done during the week, then the opportunities to compete will only allow us to get tested and really figure out if we truly are making strides in the right direction. We have some people who are really stepping up, and I hope that we can continue to find that consistent play across the board. If we can be the same team every single day, and just consistently be ourselves then I think we will be genuinely happy with our results."
Tennessee leads the series 44-13. In Knoxville, The Volunteers lead 23-4.
