STARKVILLE - Coming off of its first SEC win last week, the Mississippi State volleyball team (5-11, 1-2 SEC) is back in action against No. 18 Kentucky (9-4, 3-0 SEC) on Friday (Oct. 5) in Newell-Grissom.
The match will air on the SEC Network+ at 7 p.m., with Bart Gregory is on play-by-play, and Payton Harris as the analyst. Fans can also access the match via the WatchESPN app.
"We are looking forward to another SEC match on our home court," head coach Julie Darty said. "We have had the opportunity to get some good rest and recovery, but also get back in the gym and work since our last match. I feel like the team is pretty focused and realistic about where we are. We are willing to put in the work to keep taking steps in the right direction. Kentucky is a very good team, and this is a great opportunity for us to get on the court and just compete hard. I think that this is a match where we can learn a lot about ourselves as competitors and really just take some big swings and let it rip. We are excited to play in StarkVegas on Friday night."
Kentucky leads the all-time series, 49-2. In Starkville, Kentucky owns a 19-2 mark. Mississippi State's only wins against the Wildcats have been in Starkville in 1994 and 2011.
