Robicheaux Returns To Home State As Bulldogs Travel To LSU
September 23, 2017 | Soccer
STARKVILLE, Miss. – It will be a homecoming of sorts for Mississippi State's Courtney Robicheaux on Sunday.
The junior from Mandeville, La., will have plenty of support on hand when she and MSU (7-1-1, 1-1 SEC) travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU (7-1-1, 0-1-1) on Sunday at 3 p.m.
"All of my family went to LSU, so it's going to be a huge game," Robicheaux said. "It kind of feels like going home. A lot of my friends and family are going to be there, so that will be cool."
Although she recognizes that there will be plenty of familiar faces in the stands cheering on her and the Bulldogs, she still understands that it is like any other game and maintains a businesslike attitude.
"We just need to stay focused, use the things that we have been working on in practice and just keep improving," she added. "We each have a specific role so we need to stick to that and do our job."
Robicheaux could have easily chosen to follow in her family's footsteps and attend school merely an hour away from home, but from the moment she stepped foot on MSU's campus for the first time, she knew it was the right place for her.
"When I came here, it just felt like my home away from home," Robicheaux said. "I loved everything about this place so there was no question in my mind that this is the right place to be."
The contest at the LSU Soccer Stadium is set to begin at 3 p.m. and will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
