
State Set For Battle Of The Bulldogs At Georgia On Thursday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – A battle between Bulldogs takes place Thursday as Mississippi State (7-4-3, 1-4-2 SEC) travels to face Georgia (4-10-1, 0-7-0) in a crucial Southeastern Conference soccer match at the Turner Soccer Complex in Athens.
The match is set for 6 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on SEC Network+, with Jeff Dantzler and Tatum Hodge on the call. Thursday's contest will be State's final regular season road match of the season.
MSU is looking to bounce back after dropping a heartbreaking 3-2 decision in double-overtime at Alabama on Sunday. In Tuscaloosa, State rallied from a 2-0 deficit to send the contest into overtime with goals from MaKayla Waldner (76') and Carly Mauldin (78'). The Bulldogs also had plenty of scoring opportunities, attempting 22 total shots and out-cornering UA 9-8.

In advance of the Bulldogs' home match against Ole Miss on Sunday, the team will be recognized on the field during the first quarter of MSU's 3 p.m. football game against Kentucky on Saturday.

Georgia enters Thursday's contest winless in league play. UGA has dropped its last seven matches since a 9-1 victory against Coastal Carolina on Sept. 10.
UGA returns 16 letterwinners from last season's squad that finished 6-11-1 overall and 3-8 in SEC play, finishing 11th in the league.
Senior forward Kelsey Killean leads Georgia in points (9) and is tied for the team lead in goals (4). Goalkeeper Louise Hogrell also has a conference-best 69 saves on the year.
