
No. 4/5 MSU Honors Local Superheroes Sunday Against Texas A&M

STARKVILLE, Miss. – No. 4/5 Mississippi State looks to bounce back from its first setback of the season as it honors local heroes and hosts Texas A&M Sunday afternoon.
Tip at Humphrey Coliseum is set for 3 p.m., with the SEC Network broadcasting the game nationally.
As part of SuperHero Night at the Hump, military and first responders can get $2 tickets to the contest by going to www.hailstate.com/tickets and clicking on the GovX.com link.
As with all Bulldog home games, tickets cost $5 for adults while youth high school age and under get in free. MSU students also get complimentary admission with a valid student ID.
In honor of real-life superheroes, children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superheroes.
The first 250 Bully's Kids' Club members in attendance will receive a free superhero cape. The capes will be given away at Bully's Kidz Kourt, which runs from 1:30-2:45 p.m. in Mize Pavilion. Parents can sign up their child for Bully's Kids' Club in Mize Pavilion or online at www.bullyskidsclub.com and receive a cape while supplies last.
In addition to the SEC Network broadcast, fans can listen to the radio broadcast in the Golden Triangle area on WKBB-FM 100.9 and in the Corinth, Tupelo and Oxford areas on WCNA-FM 95.9. Live audio streams will also be available on www.hailstate.com/plus and the TuneIn app.
Mississippi State returns home after having its school-record 20-game win streak halted with a heart-breaking 64-61 setback at No. 5 South Carolina on Monday. That loss put the Bulldogs at 20-1 overall and 6-1 in SEC play.
The Bulldogs will be trying to stay in second place in the league standings ahead of a crowded group that includes Texas A&M, who is 5-2 in the conference and 15-5 overall.

- Sunday will be the sixth meeting between Mississippi State and Texas A&M, the last four being since the Aggies joined the SEC.
- State's lone win came in the last meeting at Humphrey Coliseum, a 63-61 overtime triumph. Then-No. 17 MSU got a 3-pointer from Victoria Vivians with 55 seconds left to clinch the victory. Kendra Grant hit the tying jumper with 1:12 left in regulation.
- Martha Alwal paced State with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while then-freshman Morgan William had 15 points.
- TAMU heads to Starkville 15-5 overall and 5-2 in SEC play. The Aggies had Thursday off after defeating LSU 54-52 in College Station last Sunday.
- Texas A&M has won four of its last five games, the lone setback an overtime loss at Missouri.
- The Aggies are led by Danni Williams, who tops the SEC with 17.7 ppg. Williams is second on the team in league games at 16.3 ppg. Curtyce Knox tops TAMU in SEC contests with 17.3 ppg.
- Knox tops the SEC in assists with 9.2 apg, while Anriel Howard leads the league on the boards (11.1 rpg).
- The Bulldogs head to Auburn next Thursday before returning home for back-to-back home games against Missouri (Feb. 5) and Vanderbilt (Feb. 9).
- Mississippi State had a school-record 20-0 start halted Monday. MSU has won 20-plus games fourth-straight years, matching the program's total prior to Vic Schaefer arriving in Starkville.
- State is the first team — men's or women's — to reach 20 wins this season. The Dawgs ended their record start as one of the last two undefeated women's teams in the nation.
- MSU is 28-11 in the SEC since 2014-15, the second-most wins in the SEC in that span. State has won 13 of its last 16 regular-season SEC games. It had a school-record nine-game conference win streak halted.
- State is 97-30 (.764) since 2013-14, the second-most wins in the league in that span.
