Women’s Hoops To Take On Virginia In 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge

STARKVILLE – ESPN announced on Friday morning that Mississippi State women's basketball will take on Virginia inside Humphrey Coliseum on Thursday, December 3 in the 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge.
This will be the fourth time in program history that the Bulldogs will take on the Cavaliers. State has won all three of the prior matchups, all by double-digits. This will be the second time the two teams face off in Starkville, as the Bulldogs took the first contest, which was the first meeting the two programs, 68-53, on November 10, 2017.
The Bulldogs won the return matchup of the home-and-home series during the 2018-19 season, 72-44, in Charlottesville on November 9. State won the third matchup at a neutral site on December 21, 2019, 72-59, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Bulldogs are 1-2 all-time in the SEC/ACC Challenge, holding a 1-1 record inside of Humphrey Coliseum. Last season, the Bulldogs took down Pitt, 79-44, in Starkville to earn their first SEC/ACC Challenge victory. The time and TV designation for this year's matchup is still to be determined.
