
No. 4 MSU Seeks To Match Program's Best Start On Thursday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – No. 4 Mississippi State looks to match the best start in program history on Thursday as it hosts Florida in a Southeastern Conference women's basketball game at Humphrey Coliseum.
Tip is set for 8 p.m., with Humphrey Coliseum doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the game cost $5 for adults, and students 18 and under get in free. Mississippi State students also get in free with a valid student ID.
Fans can purchase tickets in advance at www.hailstate.com/tickets.
Thursday's game will be broadcast nationally on the SEC Network. Fans can also listen in the Golden Triangle area on WKBB-FM 100.9 and in the Corinth, Tupelo and Oxford areas on WCNA-FM 95.9. Live audio streams will also be available on www.hailstate.com/plus and the TuneIn app.
Vic Schaefer's Bulldogs return home 17-0 overall and 3-0 in SEC play after winning at Tennessee for the first time on Sunday. That victory matched the school record for road wins in a season with eight.
State is one of three undefeated teams in the nation, and it is tied atop the league standings with South Carolina.
MSU returns to the Hump looking to match the 2014-15 squad's 18-0 start to the season for the best in program history. State also has the opportunity to claim its best-ever opening to SEC play.
Thursday's game will see the debut of the Student Lounge, an enclosed area outside the student gate on the west side of the Coliseum. The lounge, which will be open from 5:30-7:45 p.m. and again at halftime, will offer MSU students a pregame tailgating lounge atmosphere and include early entry into the game, free popcorn and specialty drinks, seven big screen televisions, gaming consoles and more.
Fans can also purchase special experiences through Maroon Memories by going to www.hailstate.com/memories. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., fans can enjoy inflatables and more at Bully's Kidz Kourt in Mize Pavilion.

- Florida leads the overall series 25-20, but Mississippi State enters Tuesday having won the last two meetings after Florida won the previous nine.
- The Bulldogs lead the series in Starkville 12-8.
- State opened last season's SEC slate with a 76-70 win in Gainesville. Morgan William scored her SEC personal best with 21 points. Victoria Vivians scored 14, while Breanna Richardson and Dominique Dillingham added 11 and 10, respectively.
- Richardson led MSU to a 75-62 win in the last meeting in Starkville (2014-15), tallying 16 points. Martha Alwal added 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Vivians chipped in 10 points.
- Florida enters Thursday's game 9-7 overall and 0-3 in SEC play. The Gators dropped an 81-62 decision against South Carolina on Sunday. UF fell at LSU and Auburn in its first two league contests.
- The Gators average 74.8 ppg for the season and 68.0 in league contests. Florida owns a +8.3 rebounding margin in SEC play.
- Ronni Williams paces UF in scoring and rebounding, averaging 17.8 ppg and 8.1 rpg. In conference games she is scoring 17.3 ppg and grabbing 7.3 rpg. Haley Lorenzen tops UF on the boards through the first three SEC games (8.0 rpg) while averaging 14.7 ppg.
- The Bulldogs host rival Ole Miss on Monday at 6 p.m. on the SEC Network.
- A win Thursday would match the 2014-15 team (18-0) for the best start in school history.
- The Bulldogs improved to 17-0 on the season and 3-0 in SEC play with a 74-64 win at Tennessee on Sunday. The win was MSU's first in Knoxville.
- The win in Knoxville was MSU's eighth road win this season, tying the 2008-09 team for the school record for road victories in a season.
- State's 17 wins are the most in the nation. The Dawgs are the only undefeated SEC team and one of just three — UConn and Virginia Tech — in the nation without a loss.

- Morgan William tied her SEC best with 21 points on Sunday. She set it initially last season against Florida. William averaged 18.0 points and shot 45.5% from the field last week.
- Victoria Vivians is fifth in the SEC in scoring at 16.7 ppg, but fourth in league games with a 19.0 average. She is scoring 21.4 ppg her last five games.
- Vivians also matched her career high with five steals at Tennessee. She is second in league contests with 3.7 spg.
- Teaira McCowan had her best SEC scoring performance at Tennessee, tallying 14 points. McCowan has knocked down 61.5% from the field in the first three league games.
