Logan Padgett

Logan Padgett embarks on his first season as a fellow on the Mississippi State men’s basketball staff in 2025-26.
Before State, Padgett worked as a graduate manager for one season at Louisville where he aided the program in video coordination, skill development and scout work under Pat Kelsey who was named the 2024-25 ACC Coach of the Year and a Naismith National Coach of the Year semifinalist.
The Cardinals piled up a 27-8 record and tied for second place in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings. Louisville was ranked as high as No. 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll in March 2025 and returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018-19.
Padgett’s playing career featured 95 appearances and 39 starts between his stops at Samford (2019-20), New Mexico (2020-21) and Manhattan (2022-23, 2023-24). He was a two-time All-MAAC Academic Team member and a College Sports Communications Academic All-Region honoree for his tremendous work in the classroom during his time at Manhattan.
Padgett is the son Cynthia and Scott Padgett. His father, Scott, serves as an assistant coach on State’s staff. Scott was an 8-year NBA veteran drafted by the Utah Jazz with the 28th overall pick in 1999 and a key member of Kentucky’s 1997-98 NCAA National Championship squad. His mother, Cynthia, also played volleyball for Kentucky.
Padgett earned his bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and his master’s degree in business administration, both from Manhattan College. He and his wife, Samantha, were married in June 2023. At State, Padgett is pursuing a master’s degree in workforce education.
