Two-year starter and two-time All Mid-Florida Conference selection as a catcher at Santa Fe (Fla.) Community College in Gainesville, Fla. • Coached by Johnny Wiggs • Compiled a .322 batting average with 20 RBI, 10 doubles, a triple and three home runs in 28 starts for the SFC Saints • Elected team captain • Finished the year with a .496 slugging percentage and a .988 fielding percentage • Starred as a freshman on SFC's 2009 club that captured the Florida State Junior College Championship and advanced to a runner-up finish in the NJCAA World Series • Hit .353 with 49 hits, 14 doubles and 32 RBI • Honored as the conference defensive player of the year.
