Volleyball Makes Home Debut In Big Ten x SEC Challenge

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State volleyball will welcome a pair of foes from the Big Ten to the Newell-Grissom Building for their first home matches of the regular season, as the Bulldogs are set to take on Iowa on Thursday and Northwestern on Friday.

- The Bulldogs went 2-1 in the Jaguar Classic to begin the season.
- State won their first six sets of the season in a pair of sweeps over Georgia State and South Alabama.
- The Bulldogs dropped a 3-1 contest to Rice in the final day of the event, who was receiving votes in the weekly AVCA Coaches Poll.
- Lindsey Mangelson averaged 4.0 kills per set over the weekend, leading State in kills in all three matches.
- Mississippi State returns to their home floor for the first time this season. The Bulldogs held a 7-6 record inside the Newell-Grissom Building last season.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Iowa enters the Big Ten x SEC Challenge on a three-game winning streak.
- The Hawkeyes are led by Jim Barnes, who is in his 30th season as a head coach and entering his fifth at Iowa.
- Northwestern picked up their first victory in their last match against Georgetown, 3-0.
- Tim Nollan enters his third season as the Wildcats head coach.
