Bulldogs Host Oklahoma State On Thursday Night

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State will play the only Power Four school on its non-conference schedule on Thursday night when the Bulldogs host Oklahoma State on SEC Network+. Kickoff has been moved up to 5 p.m. CT due to forecasted weather in the Starkville area that evening.
The Bulldogs will look to extend regular-season home winning streak against non-conference opponents. MSU is 12-0-0 in regular-season, non-conference matches at home since Aug. 31, 2023.
The two teams met just last year, but both look very different. Of the 27 combined players that stepped on the pitch in Stillwater last fall, only 13 remain on these two teams with Reganne Morris having swapped sides in the offseason.
There are several student-centered promotions scheduled for Thursday. All students in attendance can claim a raffle ticket for a chance to win free MSU soccer gear or a signed mini ball from head coach Kevin O'Brien. Additionally, there are 200 free hot dogs available to any students that attended New Maroon Camp in August.
Freshman Phenom: Kati Anne Shepherd is the youngest goal scorer in school history, and with three goals already, she already boasts the second-highest total by a Bulldog before their 18th birthday. Last time out, she became the first State freshman with a five-point night since 2013.
Commanding The Corner: The Bulldogs rank eighth nationally and second in the SEC, averaging 10.00 corners per game. State has already scored from the corner flag twice.
Cowgirl Connections: Reganne Morris played at Oklahoma State last fall when the Bulldogs won 1-0 in Stillwater. Ashley Tutas scored her first career goal against OSU last fall as a member of the Oklahoma squad. Only 13 of the 27 combined players from last year's meeting remain on the two teams now, with Morris having switched sides.

Oklahoma State saw a seven-match home winning streak in the Bedlam rivalry snapped last week in a shutout loss to Oklahoma. The Cowgirls were outshot, 13-5, in the match. Goalkeeper Logan Marks led the Big 12 with 5.21 saves per game last season, and her 99 total saves ranked third in school history. She has already totaled eight saves this fall. Aubrey Wagner leads the Big 12 in shots on goal percentage this year (.833), which is among the top 25 nationally.
