Men's Tennis Announces Two New Signings

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State men's tennis head coach Matt Roberts announced the signing of both Luigi Valletta and Jacopo Borsoi on Thursday.
Both recruits come to Starkville from Italy, marking a European recruiting win for the Coach Roberts, alongside Associate Head Coach Derek Siddiqui and Assistant Coach Trevor Gotkowski. Both Valletta and Borsoi will arrive on campus this fall to compete with the nationally ranked Men's Tennis Team.
Luigi Valletta is a native of Ravenna, Italy. Valletta brings winning experience to the Bulldogs, having won his first professional title in Doubles at ITF M15 Brcko, where he faced former Bulldog Dusan Milanovic. Valletta comes to Starkville ranked 1311th in the ATP World Rankings.
Jacopo Borsoi hails from Pontinia, Italy. Borsoi also brings professional experience along with him to Starkville, having competed in various ITF tournaments across Europe.
Both Valletta and Borsoi join a Mississippi State program that continues to compete as one of the nation's elite college tennis programs. Under Coach Matt Roberts, the Bulldogs have reached consecutive NCAA Quarterfinals and continue to experience success in the SEC and on the national stage.
