Mevo Closes Out 2026 Season

Eugene, Ore. – Mississippi State track and field concluded the 2026 outdoor season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, hosted by Oregon.
Manie Mevo was the sole Bulldog to compete on the fourth day of competition. In her first NCAA Championship, the senior jumped 12.87m in the triple jump on the finale of her collegiate career.
Over the course of the four-day meet, State earned three podium performances and three Second Team All-American honors.
Marie Rougetet earned bronze in the hammer with a 69.71m throw, as the first trophy winner and First Team All-American for State in the event.
The men's 4x100m secured fifth in the final, as the first short relay to podium for MSU since 2009. Nicholas Fakorede, Kibren Moore, Gabriel Scott and Sherman Hawkins Jr. crossed the line in 39.07 for First Team All-American honors.
Khalil Antoine made his NCAA Championships debut in the high and triple jumps, tying seventh in the triple with a 2.19m attempt.
Kevin Grubbs, Juha Narhi and the men's 4x400m earned Second Team All-American honors for State.
State will send a select few to compete in the USATF U20 Championships next week in Eugene, Oregon, alongside other international Bulldogs competing in their respective national championships.
