
No. 6 Mississippi State Places Six in Latest ITA Singles Rankings, Two Doubles Teams Ranked

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State men's tennis remained among the nation's elite, checking in at No. 6 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) team rankings.
The Bulldogs placed six players in the ITA singles rankings, led by Petar Jovanovic, who climbed to No. 6 nationally after being ranked No. 8 last week.
Benito Sanchez Martinez also represented the Bulldogs inside the top 50, coming in at No. 35 in this week's rankings.
Mississippi State continued to show its depth throughout the lineup with Mario Martinez Serrano ranked No. 62, while Niccolo Baroni made a significant jump to No. 68 after previously sitting at No. 125.
Rounding out the ranked Bulldogs were Bryan Hernandez Cortes at No. 97 and Raphael Vaksmann, who entered the rankings at No. 123 after being unranked a week ago.
In doubles play, the duo of Jovanovic and Sanchez Martinez continued to lead the way, moving up to No. 4 nationally after being ranked No. 5 last week. The Bulldogs also featured another ranked tandem in Bryan Hernandez Cortes and Roberto Ferrer Guimaraes, who came in at No. 47.
