STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's basketball will play their eighth ranked team in ten conference games when they travel to Columbia to take on the third-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks on Thursday. Tipoff for the contest is set for 5:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network.

- Madison Francis was named the SEC's Freshman of the Week after averaging 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals across the two contests.
- Francis joined Jaylah Lampley as the second Bulldog to earn a FOTW honor, making the two the only teammates to both earn SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
- Francis has rejected 66 blocks this season, a mark that is ninth in single-season program history.
- Kharyssa Richardson averaged 21points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals between the two contests last week.
- She has now scored 20 or more points in four games this season, all coming in conference play. She had only done such one other time in her career before this season.
- Trayanna Crisp knocked down a career-high six three pointers in State's contest against Missouri during an 18-point performance.
- Across her last five games, Crisp is averaging 3.2 three pointers per game on a 43.2 percent clip.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- South Carolina enters the contest on a three-game winning streak after taking down Texas A&M, 71-56.
- The Gamecocks are 22-2 and 12-0 at home this season.
- Joyce Edwards leads the Gamecocks with 20.3 points per game. Ta'Niya Latson (15.2), Tessa Johnson (14.1) and Madina Okot (13.4) all average double figures for South Carolina, while Okot averages 9.9 rebounds per game.
- The Bulldogs trail in the all-time series, 19-28.
