Pellot Leads After Open Round of Moon Golf Invitational
February 15, 2026 | Women's Golf
MELBOURNE, Fla. – Izzy Pellot shot a season-best 3-under round in the opening day of the Moon Golf Invitational, putting her in the sole possession of the lead after 18 holes. The Bulldogs are in seventh as a team at 9-over.
Â
Pellot, playing in her home state of Florida, carded her eighth career round in the 60s. It marked the first time that she has carded a round in the 60s since last season's SEC Championship, where she ended the stroke play portion of the tournament with a round of 3-under.
Â
Pellot now moves into a tie for seventh most round in the 60s in an MSU career, tying former Bulldogs Abbey Daniel, Ji Eun Baik and Ashley Gilliam. The round also marked the 35th par or better round of her career, which puts her sixth among all Bulldogs in program history.
Â
Pellot was one of eight individuals to finish under par in the opening round of action. She was the only player to record a round in the 60s.
Â
The Bulldogs will look to climb the leaderboard in the second day of the Moon Golf Invitational, as the field looks to make ground on Texas A&M, who leads the field at 3-under. The Aggies were the only team to conclude the opening day under par.
