Bulldogs Close Indoor Regular Season Out Strong
February 14, 2026 | Track & Field
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State track and field concluded the regular indoor season campaign earlier this evening, split between the Music City Challenge and the Tiger Paw Invite.
"This was a solid weekend across the board from all event groups," said head coach Chris Woods. "We hit our specific team goals, putting individuals and relays in national qualifying positions, as well as identifying the athletes that will be able to compete and score at the SEC Championship level. We're leaving both meets feeling how we should be going into the conference meet, confident and healthy!"
The final day of competition produced a new program record, five entries and extensions on the program's all-time list and 12 personal bests.
The day began in Clemson at the Tiger Paw Invite, with the first race being the 800m. Camryn Merryman, Anje Nel and Ife Adisa all earned personal bests in the women's section, and Keayari Lee earned second in the men's with a 1:48.22 finish as a freshman.
Manie Mevo jumped 13.18m in the triple jump, earning her a new personal best, and extended her No. 2 spot on the all-time list, inching closer to the program record.
Kibren Moore earned a new personal best of 20.84 in the 200m, finishing fourth overall. His time is now the fourth fastest in program history over the distance.
Action concluded in Clemson with the 4x400m relays, with both teams earning a top ten finish and spots on the program's all-time list. The women's relay, consisting of Jessicka Woods, Ife Adisa, Camryn Merryman and De'Kayla Simpson, ran 3:36.79 for the second fastest time in program history. The men's relay, featuring Malachi Burton, Christion Barker, Keayari Lee and Sherman Hawkins, clocked in at 3:05.18 for the third fastest time in MSU history.
The Music City Challenge had a big day in the throws and distance races. Roury McCloyen extended his shot put program record, with a new personal best of 19.66m. His mark puts him in the top 10 nationally.
Nelly Jemeli closed out the day in Nashville, taking home the win in the women's 3000m. Her time of 9:18.72 is a new program freshman record, extends her No. 2 spot on the all-time list and is a new personal best.
This weekend marked the conclusion of the regular season, with the Bulldogs returning to action at the SEC Championships, hosted by Texas A&M, in late February.
